DIGITEK® PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY
DIGITEK, also sometimes labeled as digitalis, is a drug commonly prescribed to treat patients who suffer from heart conditions such as congestive heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. Digitek is manufactured by Actavis Totowa and distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. using the "Bertek" label and UDL Laboratories, Inc. using the "UDL" label.
On April 25, 2008 Actavis issued a Class I recall of Digitek. Class I recalls are the most severe type and are used when there is a potential for serious injury or death. Digitek has been recalled because some tablets have been manufactured and distributed that are twice the size of the intended design (twice the size results in twice the dose). Taking these oversized tablets can lead to a condition called "Digitalis Toxicity," especially in patients who suffer from renal failure. Digitalis Toxicity can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, vision disturbances, low blood pressure, cardiac instability, bradycardia or death.
Serious Side-Effects
If you or a love one have taken Digitek and suffered from Digitalis Toxicity you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries.
